Alittle unorganized with training.

High expectations, not for everyone

Chubb was a great place to work prior to ACE purchasing & Rebranding. Now unfortunately even after a full year, the company still lacks a consistent direction. When someone leaves they do not replace them or they are slow to fill the void. This has caused other people in their units to take on additional workloads, making them second guess their jobs and to seek work elsewhere. Thus the cycle continues.

Less growth opportunities are there

The integration has been a terrible experience. Legacy Chubb and Legacy ACE had very different cultures and it's hard to tell what is or will be going on.

After the ACE acquisition, there still is much turmoil within the company with regards to merging the talent and processes between the companies. I'm sure it will ease in the coming years.

Technical solutions need improvement to be more competitive.

Large organization. change takes time

It can be hard work. Expectations are high sometimes unrealistically so. The technology is dated. Senior managers may need to work on how they give feedback to avoid turning people off.

Regional leadership is great, but home office is very slow to take action on anything and justifies extreme caseloads and high incoming claim counts by saying we are "already overstaffed". Per word of mouth, ESIS (TPA of Chubb) is on the low end of the totem pole when it comes to salaries. They identify high achievers and work them to death for no extra compensation--and when they do reward you, it's in the form of bonuses that are taxed at a super high rate so you only end up seeing half of it anyways. If you present yourself as ambitious, they will milk it for all its worth. They focus on hiring young professionals straight out of college that don't know any better and will work themselves to death to get ahead.

Bureaucratic environment post-acquisition and limitations of upward mobility

Communication could be better. Units need to learn to work better together to make processes easier.

The whole company will be outsourced, Legacy ACE will hit the road with all the work they will have. Good Luck!!!

Difficult to get recognized for hard work Salary increases with growth aren't as aggressive as some competitors

After the ACE acquisition, all the focus now is the speed to the market without sufficient quality control and risk management

Even at that point, staff was stretched too thin (claims side), and middle management, "talked the talk", but didn't "walk the walk".

At this moment I cannot think of any cons. It is a great company to work for.

Company was bought by ACE Limited.

-So far I can not complain

The merger still has many grumpy and bitter and it is not a fun environment. Business units compete with one another.

Decisions will be made from the top, whether or not it's feasible, but this is with other corporate cultures too.

They have to hire outside talent because Ace has taken over since the merger. It’s not the legacy Middle Market Chubb you remember that had class.

I didn't like all the downsizing

No authority, crazy workload, culture has changed since the merger

Company doesnt care about skill or educational background. It's all in who you know to get promoted or newly hired.

Higher ups don't get a drop of insight or perspective from us on the ground.

- Required 4-5 days in office every week despite stellar company and division performance. Exceptions granted to full-time RTO also seem arbitrarily decided - Low raises each year - Variable employee experience between different teams - Poor office structure with too few meeting rooms

Work life balance is difficult to achieve. As others have commented the turnover has been high since the merger and continues to be high. Theme across Chubb is understaffed business units with high work loads. Ace management comes down on employees at times instead of coaching employees. 401k is only deposited in one sum at end of the year (actual deferred).

Work is not that challengeable and easy to get bored after working some time
