Anonymous employee
Competitive pay, higher level management asked for preferences when it came to assignments
Boys club mentality and not much respect for lower level staff.
Claims adjuster
The people overall in claims department are great employees and great people. The claim system is probably one of the best in the business. Training is good in claims and a lot of structure. Chubb offers good benefits
The amount of work given and what is expected out of each employee is unrealistic. 20-40 calls a day and 5-10 new claims a day. You will be doing the role of two people. Workflows frequently change due to regulations. Chubb had a pension, but got rid of it which is disappointing. Bottomline is that the company is frugal and will overwork you.
Underwriting assistant
Good work environment, room for growth
Repetitive tasks, no full remote options when I was there
Customer service representative (csr)
Decent benefits and time off.
Morale at this company is terrible. All management plays favorites. The pay at Chubb is below average. Raises and bonuses are laughable. The owner Evan Greenberg is the 2nd highest paid insurance owner and doesn't invest money into his employees. Christmas parties are in office and they ask you to bring sides during flu season. Christmas bonuses or gifts are basically non existent. They advance you by your skin color and sex, not by your qualifications.
Underwriter
A reputable brand in the insurance industry with stability for employees and insureds.
Leadership continues to push work from office post-pandemic, where majority of employees now want more flexibility to work from home. Processes and procedures are cumbersome.
Senior claim director
I appreciate the Stability and Name Recognition
Company culture seems unwilling to adapt to 100% remote working even though working through the pandemic 100% remote the company experienced HUGE PROFITS. Not seeing the opportunities which present for employees in a 100% remote working environment seems short sighted and rigid.
Data entry clerk
You get an hour lunch Some coworkers were cool Snacks
Working in the mailroom you do not get the same perks and amenities that the upstairs does Expected to do astronomical loads of work in literally no time Have to go behind the people upstairs work and fix their mistakes
Great global reach, helpful for resources and opportunities outside of Australia Brilliant offices at both Sydney CBD and Nth Sydney
Poor culture post ACE integration Low salary for non-Underwriting staff Insufficient resources and funding to complete enhancements being requested Majority of work is rushed hence quality of BAU, projects & initiatives commonly sub-standard
The old Chubb offered a family feel with an experienced group of individuals willing to help. Presently, the only pro would be the coffee and snacks
Inexperienced management team who refuse to accept that diversity is the key to fresh ideas/methods. Tunnel vision and decisions based on whether they like you, not your ability and ambition. They put Brokers first, employees second. Bonus is awful in comparison to other companies in Finance. Pay is below the market average by 15-20%.
