Stable work environment including good rewards, benefits, job content. Everything is good in good times.
When tough times for the company come cost reduction is made by the immediate expenses reduction no matter what could be future expense impact from the consequences. Probably that's right for a big company to hold stock price predictable, however it brings dramatic shock at certain projects/areas where key but more expensive people are laid off or a strategic project is cancelled. With tightening of return-to-office policies it becomes much much harder to apply to remote positions internally, so career growth is limited to locally available positions or via relocation with scarce relocation package. Corporate policies are unnecessarily tight at certain areas that makes it very hard to build up a working environment allowing a person to perform up to max of their potential - including IT stuff, travels and inter-teams communication.

Good work-life balance, pay, and benefits. Historically, Dell has been a strong place to work overall, including a more relaxed approach to the corporate environment and good PTO including sick-time.
In recent time, policy changes force employees to choose between career advancement and going into office. Employees who were encouraged to work from home and have moved away have been cut off from promotion unless they move back and return to hybrid or in-office work. In addition, recent organizational changes have caused a lot of headaches and ballooning workloads for IT. A shift from specialized teams to larger teams in a jack-of-all-trades format has a lot more issues than upper management seems to think and the employees are stuck with the consequences. It was a great place to work around COVID, but recently too many organizational choices have been made that hinder the "people-first" vibe Dell has always prided itself on. People have been moved away from managers they've spent time developing professional relationships with in arbitrary directions, and non-IT individuals are being put in IT roles and can barely keep up. It's a bit of a mess that leaves the impression that employees are numbers, not people, and there's a greater concern for profits and how to deal with laying off too many people at once.
People are good and good benefits and pay
Nothing really to complain about
Great place if you're looking for work-life balance or settling down. Supportive team and genuinely good colleagues. Decent benefits and stability.
Stagnant career growth – Learning opportunities are scarce unless you hustle outside the job. The role itself won't push you forward. Upskilling is just for show – Even if you invest your time and effort to learn new things, the environment won’t let you apply any of it. Growth is blocked by outdated mindsets. Company-first, people-last – Organizational goals are prioritized while employee development is an afterthought. You’re a cog, not a creator. No promotions, no hikes – Recognition comes in words, not raises. Every attempt to ask is met with the same script: “Everyone is waiting for a promotion” or “We truly value your contribution.” Spoiler alert: That value doesn’t show up in your payslip. Token morale boosters – Don’t expect meaningful change. Instead, brace yourself for a thank-you email or an ice cream day and pretend it’s motivation. Good place to rest. Not to grow. Stay too long, and you'll forget what ambition feels like.
Culture, innovation, pay, resources, benefits, unlimited PTO
No cons to note !
The work culture is empowering — employees are given the freedom to manage their responsibilities without constant oversight. The team is supportive, professional, and easy to collaborate with.
The compensation package could be more competitive.
