Flextronics is an ideal place for someone who just wants to put in their ~40hrs and go home. There are ample opportunities to move around within the company, especially for engineers. If you desire it, you can even see a pretty good chunk of the globe travelling to different sites while you work.
They do very little here to promote any type of career progression. Despite an extensive corporate training website (consisting of everypone's favorite -- powerpoints!), there is very little offered in the way of actual training -- whatever skills you have will stagnate unless you take it upon yourself to keep them sharp. Negotiate the best beginning salary you can get -- it won't change much over the years. And don't expect to get a raise just because you took on the responsibilities of two or three people (and continue to excel) -- according to management, that's just expected.

Career opportunities... There are a lot of Internal opportunities and the Internal Recruitment works ...
Value of participation in results very low, compared to the market.
- You get to play with new phones all the time - Satisfaction when customer's are really grateful for you services - never a dull day
- Pay. Pay. Pay. You expect a LOT out of your employees, but aren't paying them to do all of the extra work. - Not enough actual training. All the new phones that come out, we essentially teach ourselves how to use them. There is no real tools to make KNOWING how to do your job easier. - Pay. - Open on Sunday - Being forced to work 10-11 hr days - New management is hiring a lot of their former employees from other companies based on personal relationships. And the new hires are ALL awful. - No real opportunity for growth
Good exposure and learning opportunities. Friendly employees Reputable company in electronics manufacturing services industry Fascinating technology and product offerings Flexible working hours
Low salary as compared to industry No standard in terms of compensation among staff of the same rank and function Cronyism in management selections Lack of common objectives among various units in achieving stated mission and vision Projects keep being started without follow-through until execution Unreasonable expectations in terms of timelines and cost of certain projects.

-you can learn a lot about all kinds of manufacturing technologies -sometimes they send you to trainings to learn about industrial robots, PLCs and more -good place to learn about people and how to interact with them -colleagues are helpful most of the time
-even a wrong decision is a good decision when it's fast kind of point of view -due to the lack of qualified staff everybody's overwhelmed -most of the managers are pushing without thinking about the consequences beforehand. -it's a multinational company, they could let you go without warning in the first place. -salary could be low if you stay for long, new hires will get higher pase pay. Best to stay for a couple of years, find something better paying job, then wait until they call for you again and ask for a much higher base salary, then repeat this after a couple of years.
