location not very accommodating for undergraduates

Very Matrix organization, not easy administrative procesess.

No opportunity for growth or independent thinking.

Contractors are laid off without any notice Poor management No clear guidelines on the project deadlines

I don’t know any cons

-Overridden by processes, SOPs and politics. -Different opinions are often frown upon. -Constant turnover and routined layoff every 1-2 years, no job security, too many studies/programs in the pipeline. Unless you have a lightspeed/priority study, all other’s studies will experience constant turnover and staff resources being taken away every 2-3 months to support other priorities.

Less exposure to clinical datasets.

Crappy crappy culture! Put in horrible situations where you are forced to do things you shouldn’t for the sake of keeping up with production.

Develop their people, in soft skills at all levels

Paperwork can be overwhelming and redundant.

- Slow progression -Lack of work/balance at times

Shift work is tough but the people are fantastic, looked after very well in terms of pay and time off

Operates like a government, too much process and paperwork. Inefficient. This impedes innovation. Impersonal. Some departments not diverse at all, especially executive teams. Few female role models in R&D.

Client interaction can get spicy and sometimes have to deal with being yelled at

Canteen is not great, not many healthy options or vegetarian/vegan options

Large organization. easy to get stuck.

No benefits (health insurance, bonus or pension) if you’re a contractor Experience is dependant on what team you’re on

They pay you less and the growth is not evident.

Very corporate however. Many have been here 20-30 years and as a result ideation has stagnated.

Demands high quality results in rapid timeframes for multiple projects.

Bad work-life balance, favoritism for non-minority workers, additional difficulty for minority advancement.

Typical pharmaceutical red tape makes it hard to enact change. Many, many emails and meetings.

Too many meeting less time to work

Pay is not competitive within the industry

Too bureaucratic and hard to navigate career ladder

Slow Progression/Promotions - wish this was faster at an earlier stage When drug products are at lightspeed, sometimes overtime is a necessity

Bonus can be better than before.

A lot of cyclicality in the work hour (long hours during the reporting periods). The organization is also inundated with reorgs.

Routine instability, work fluctuates daily

No opportunities to grow No recognition for going beyond your duties

Progression is slow, salary not as competitive

Hard worker having to work on alot more projects on hand to cover low performance colleagues. At the end of the day, those low performance colleagues does not get penalise by manager and will still get similar pay increment and bonus every year to the extent that it seem like the management are condoning poor performance and promote lazy work attitude.

Sometimes decision making is slow.
