Seagate’s values of Integrity, Innovation and Inclusion are not just something you see on the website, but are embedded in the culture. Leadership led meetings tie back information to the values. Seagate actively pursues sustainability and circularity with products, pulling back drives to refurbish or at a minimum, reclaim precious materials. I feel that I know how I contribute to the broader picture and communication from leadership is timely. I feel that Seagate’s Covid response she has been on point. This is a fluid time and they haven’t acted rashly but rather try to do what is right for employees while being lawfully compliant. This is not easy as a global company managing hundred of jurisdictions.
I wish there had been some more tangible help than a $25 dollar per month expense option for Covid. I ended up purchasing $500 of hardware to furnish my home office and at $25 per month it didn’t really feel worth my time to expense. I’m still looking for a decent chair for working at home.

There are no pros. This is one of the worst companies I've worked for.
Pay, management. Very top heavy company with massive pay discrepancy between workers and management.

It was a good working environment. I liked and respected my colleagues, and felt generally supported. The work/life balance was pretty good and I appreciated my generous parental leave, which improved after I started. I liked that workers of any gender had access to 16 weeks of bonding leave. I was given an opportunity to switch roles/responsibilities during my leave, and I thought this was a sign of good company support! (I do not think this anymore... please see below.)
The tech I was working on was not particularly new or fresh. I was working on interesting problems, but it was not very exciting. Layoffs are the second huge bummer. This was true when my teammates were laid off, and then (of course) when I was laid off less than two months after I was back from my parental leave. I was transitioning into a new role, so navigating that transition while also transitioning into working motherhood, and felt kind of set up to be on the chopping block. It was shocking and demoralizing to see talented, well-liked senior colleagues with decades of company experience get chopped.
