Benefits; working environment; work-life balance
Salary freeze since 5+ years despite excellent performance year after year. Many experienced people paid well below comparatio 100. Working on your visibility is more important than doing an excellent job. Became too commercial. Old style management. More and more people are demotivated, young and old.
Lovely people, very sociable, object orientated
Very political, getting a decision made can take time
Work life balance and clients
Management philosophy and operational structure
Software developer
Excellent benefits and vacation policy. Excellent 401K plan. Job security and stability. 100% health insurance and no paycheck deduction.
No career growth. You would be stuck in a single level for years and years. There is no standard promotion policy. Poor salary increments. Poor bonus percentage. Work life balance basically depends on the team you are in.
Project manager
The CTO has been working to reshape the IT organization to improve collaboration, transparency and effectiveness of IT and is very forward thinking. There are many more opportunities now than one year ago, and the culture is getting consistently better.
As with any organization going through transformation, the changes can be a little unsettling. The workplaces are in real need of updates, but there is a program underway to take care of that.
great benefits, vacation, health, pay; interesting niche work and a lot of learning potential
frequent management changes, limited opportunity for growth, Euro-centric, dead-end technology
International environment, good reputation, perfect for 50/+ yo professionals looking for a place to retire
Mid management in their mid-50ies: protect each others (zero growth opportunities), affraid of change, give lip service to HQs
Enough annual leaves, nice eorking environment
Limited promotion chances within the team
Security operations
- Manager is willing to listen - Professional training (e.g. SANS training) - Paid on-call / shift / overtime work (at least better than many HK companies...) - Benefits are comparatively better than many HK companies (but still not "up to standard" compare to the Europe region) - Cultural diversity - Internal mobility is possible (even globally) - Nice sea view pantry with free snacks and drinks - Nice office (large desks / large monitors) - Appreciate continuous improvement
- Job functions in Hong Kong is limited - Salary increment is not attractive enough to retain staff (Security Operations) - Early shift: as early as 7am - Team budget is not tight, but not utilized perfectly in a way that benefits the whole team - High turnover rate (resources wasted to train new staffs)
Excellent environment Great work-life balance, work from home and flex-hour policy Good compensation and benefits Collaborative culture
Too many organisational changes in the recent years Niche technology and business knowledge which are hard to be transferred to other companies
