Superb work life balance. Adapting to new technologies, services very rapidly.
Bonus & appraisal can be much better. Levels are very critical here.
- work life balance - able to work from home
- less increment - no adjustment on flexi benefits
Technical writer
Great offices and canteens, short hours.
Can be boring because it's quite slow.
Heavy emphasis on continuous improvement, perceived large budget for the Kuala Lumpur office since it was being expanded to be a global service hub.
Very messy reporting lines. I ended up managing several teams, all of which had separate reporting lines to the foreign HQ, hence my performance evaluation was extremely vague. High uncertainty, had to do alot of work (about 3x) that was not recognised because 2/3rds were not part of the portfolio of the main reporting line. Management are not supportive of employee education/development: even though HR policy allows for employees to apply for funding for masters programmes after 6 months in the company, the policy is not practised in reality.
Benefits, PTO, Work from home
People stay at the company and their jobs for a long time, so it is difficult to get promoted
Stable work environment, good benefits, interesting area of work, friendly colleauges.
Like all large companies, it is a little bureaucratic.
Senior developer/systems engineer
Good benefits, work life balance. Commute against traffic. Aging staff. Far less younger people. Good to retire company good 401k match.
Not so good work. Good to retire and not good to start the career. No growth option or internal mobility.
Good Company and Good work life balance
very less Salary hike annually
Systems administrator
Excellent medical benefits, and fringe benefits too! This company is a solid global company.
I am really not sure.
- Work life balance - Opportunity to travel HQ in Belgium - Good benefits and staff welbeing
- Was hired as developer but converted to tester/testing script developer. The management in the project team did not even ask if we would like to or happy about the decision. - Technology and architecture is very complex; but the business and members in the project team were not willing to share knowledge. - No development standards and bad or even no documentations at all, reverse engineering is common practice. Code reviews only a recent active initiative which is bad, what were they doing previously for code quality? - Finger pointing from HQ to KL if any issues, one of my project experience: a project completed development 4 months back, but none of the project manager or product owner follow up in fact weekly meeting we did ask for status. Only during SIT with external vendors application, they realized the development was wrong and some requirements were missing. - Power decisions mostly from HQ which is common; the bad is they would like KL to be listener and follower instead of being innovative.
