Pros

Working with talented and welcoming people from all over the world, opportunities to expand my skills, and this company has a great professional reputation.

Cons

I wish the company paid for parking. Really not that big of a deal, but it would be nice if we had a parking lot.

Pros

TYLin offers unconventional and technically challenging projects, which I found to be one of its strongest aspects. While not all senior and lead engineers demonstrate the same level of expertise, there are several highly qualified and inspiring professionals within the organization who can meaningfully contribute to your technical growth and engineering development.

Cons

Work–life balance is not a priority at TYLin. Employees with lower billing rates are often expected to take on excessive workloads. While tight budgets and schedules are inherent to civil engineering projects, a significant portion of TYLin’s projects appear to be underfunded, resulting in continuous and unhealthy pressure. Overtime work is frequently expected and, in many cases, extended over long periods without compensation or acknowledgment. Additionally, some younger lead and senior engineers tend to prioritize budget constraints over realistic task planning, assigning scopes of work with insufficient allocated hours (e.g., 8–10 hours for tasks that require substantially more time). This environment significantly impacted my professional satisfaction, and for the first time in my career, I found the role of a structural engineer to be discouraging. I am relieved to have moved on from TYLin and into a healthier professional setting.

Pros

Great projects, good team, diverse portfolio

Cons

Too much focus on metrics and significant inconsistencies and constant changes to org chart. They keep explaining why the company was re-organized only to change it again before they realize the value from the last change.
