Executive assistant
Exciting and intriguing work, tons of perks like advance CDs and concert tickets
Workplace politics to a disheartening degree, more cutthroat the higher up the food chain you go. A glass ceiling still exists for “certain” people based on factors having nothing to do with work performance. Average work day averages 9-15 hours with quickly capped overtime.
Anonymous employee
Forward looking management with a professional team culture.
Communication can be lacking at times.
College marketing representative
You're able to develop your professional skills: negotiating, writing and presenting. Management works with you for job placement after college
Long hours Not enough events to plan Low budget Not enough marketing materials
Coordinator
Amazing people Get to work on innovative projects
not much to say very few cons
Work at a label at warner music
Plenty of company events during work hours Free gig tickets Free CDs/vinyl Good medical insurance
Salary is the lowest out of the 3 majors Progress is incredibly slow and unclear. We have AMPS which are meant to track our progress, but not taken seriously by management. It seems the only way to be promoted is to have a job offer from another label. Every year the gender pay gap is addressed in our company wide conference, yet nothing has been done. We need more women and WOC in senior roles! Can be very cliquey - you can feel left out if you’re not deemed ‘cool’ Lots of people left out of award shows/events who find out on the day - not well communicated if you're not going
Exposure to various new IT technology
Lack of process and procedure starting from task request to project implementation. Lots of management change which causing uncertainty and delay in decision making Pace of work is pretty slow
Creative culture, international organisation, interesting industry
Medium sized organisation, difficult to define a career path
Human resources
It's a super collaborative and easy going place
The salaries are not consistent
Fast pace, interesting people and artists
Overwork and low pay for the amount of work you have to put in.
Finance, accountant, reporting, analyst
Great dining/relaxation/patio area. Most people tend to be friendly and easy going. Casual dress.
My experience was very, very negative, the job description clearly stated that $ was an hourly rate and $$ was an overtime rate, it was pretty clear that I would have to work longer than 8 hours a day. The second manager saw an overtime claim she said to never do it again, even if I had to stay way past 8 hours including working through lunch. Managers would fairly openly talk about the interviews they would have for the permanent replacement for the position. The department consists of 3 women, down from 5, and they don't seem to be particularly open to changing that at any point. Was notified by a smiling manager that today may or may not be the last day of the contract and later was notified over the email that it was the last day indeed. Finally constant conversations about restaurants and the burning desire to get married.
