Noisy neighbours destroying your WFH experience — practical fixes

My neighbour started a home renovation two months ago. Here's what I tried, in order of how well it worked. Didn't work: Earplugs (can't hear calls), noise-cancelling headphones alone (not enough for heavy drilling). P…

Browser extensions every developer should have in 2025

Cleaned up my extension list and kept only what I actually use daily. Sharing the list. For all developers: - uBlock Origin: ad and tracker blocking, also speeds up browsing significantly - Wappalyzer: identifies tech s…

Best playlists and podcasts for WFH focus — share what you're listening to

Building a list because everyone in my team keeps asking each other this. Sharing mine, please add yours. For deep focus work: - Brain.fm (paid but worth it, the AI music is genuinely different from regular lo-fi) - Lof…

Automating repetitive work tasks with Python — beginner walkthrough

I'm not a developer but I've automated 4 hours of my weekly work with Python. Here's what I built and how I learned. What I automated: 1. A report that pulled data from 3 Excel files, combined them, and generated a form…

Notion vs Obsidian vs Linear — which one do Malaysian teams actually stick with?

Been watching teams adopt and abandon tools for 4 years. Here's my pattern recognition. Notion: Teams adopt it enthusiastically, build elaborate systems, then slowly abandon individual sections until it becomes a docume…

Switching from 100% office to 100% remote — the adjustment no one prepares you for

Left a traditional office role for a fully remote company. Six months in, here's what I'd tell myself on day one. The productivity adjustment is real, but not the direction you expect. I became more productive, not less…

Hybrid schedule negotiation — tactics that actually worked

Company wanted 4 days in office. I wanted 2. Here's how we landed at 3 and how I plan to get to 2. What didn't work: "I'm more productive at home." Everyone says this and it's not persuasive without data. What worked:…

I tracked my WFH vs office productivity for 6 months — here's the actual data

What are your thoughts on 4-day work weeks in Malaysia?

My company piloted it for 3 months and productivity went up. Management ended it anyway. Frustrating.

Notion vs Obsidian for personal knowledge management — which do you use?

Notion: beautiful, shareable, slow. Obsidian: local files, Markdown, fast, great for long-term notes. I switched from Notion to Obsidian 8 months ago and never looked back.

How exercise helped my work performance more than any productivity hack

Started running 3x a week during the pandemic. Focus improved, anxiety dropped, sleep quality went up. The energy I get from a morning run is worth more than any app or system I have tried.

The Feynman Technique actually works for technical topics

If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it. I write notes as if teaching a junior. Gaps in the explanation show gaps in my understanding. Best study method I have found for any subject.

About Productivity on SuperJobs

Less about optimising every hour and more about what people found workable once the novelty wore off. Threads here cover getting deep work done in an open-plan office, the meeting load that quietly eats a week, note and task systems that survived past a month, and the honest reckoning that follows adopting a fifth productivity app. Because these threads come from across the forum you will find them framed differently depending on where they started — remote workers talking about structuring an unsupervised day, people in mental-health threads talking about doing less rather than more, and tools threads comparing specific software. The useful thread is usually the one written six months after the experiment, not the day it began.
