The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for verifying figures, postings, and documents for accuracy and proper coding. This role involves organizing and maintaining financial files and records according to company policies, recording and analyzing computerized financial information, and compiling financial data using journals, ledgers, or computers. The assistant completes period-end closing procedures, audits cashier banks, manages petty cash and contracts, handles cash variances, and acts as a liaison with banking institutions and armored car services. The position requires participation in audit processes to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and adherence to company policies, including maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
At least 1 year of related work experience.
No supervisory experience required.
Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
Good communication skills, including professional language and etiquette.
Ability to handle physical tasks such as moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
Teamwork skills to support common goals and respond appropriately to coworkers.
