The Assistant, Discharge is responsible for finalizing inpatient bills and ensuring a smooth discharge process for patients. This role plays a critical part in maintaining hospital operations and enhancing patient satisfaction through efficient billing and documentation practices.
Job Description
As an Assistant in Discharge, you will engage in daily interactions with patients and healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate billing processes. You will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, focusing on providing excellent service while adhering to hospital policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain charge tickets and finalize inpatient bills
- Generate bills and apply discounts as required
- Collect payments from self-payment cases
- Ensure guarantee letters are obtained before patient release
- Update the Bed Management System and follow up on payments
- Adhere to hospital policies and safety regulations
- Provide excellent service to patients during their admission
- Participate in new service introductions
Job Requirements
Diploma in Healthcare Administration or related field
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Familiarity with billing systems and processes
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Proficient in English, knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is a plus
