The Assistant Executive Housekeeper assists in overseeing the daily operations of housekeeping, recreation/health club, and laundry if applicable. This role involves working with employees to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas, completing inspections, and holding staff accountable for corrective actions. The position supports guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget, and assists in managing housekeeping operations, departmental costs, customer service, and human resources activities.
High school diploma or GED with 1 year of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area, or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required.
Ability to assist in managing housekeeping operations including communication of guest room status and supervision of cleaning schedules.
Capability to participate in managing departmental controllable expenses and understanding financial goals.
Skills to respond to and handle guest problems and complaints and to empower employees to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to participate in human resources activities such as staffing supervision, employee training, performance appraisal, and discipline procedures.
Strong communication skills to ensure employees understand expectations and property policies.
Capacity to support employee orientation and training programs.
