Job Description
The Associate Director - Upstream Consulting plays a key role in delivering consulting projects within the Upstream industry segment, which includes upstream oil and gas, growth strategies, field development planning, subsurface analysis, and trends in oilfield technology. This role involves project management, client engagement, business development, leadership, mentoring, and applying innovations such as data science and AI to consulting deliverables. The position requires interaction with clients to provide strategic support, due diligence, portfolio and asset evaluation, technical analysis, and advanced analytics.
Job Requirements
Experience and interest in the Energy Industry.
10+ years of professional experience with major oil and gas companies, with strong preference for project management experience.
Prior management consulting or strategic advisory experience strongly preferred.
Track record of successful projects including deliverables such as large datasets, data visualizations, dynamic models, and tools beyond spreadsheets and presentations.
Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
A bachelor or master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or energy-related technical field.
Familiarity and proficiency with a variety of data analytics technologies such as PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire, Python/R, Excel VBA, Databricks, and Snowflake.
Ability to see the big picture and communicate a compelling story while also managing technical details.
Keen attention to detail and strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and understand the timing and needs of consulting teams and researchers.
