The Associate Professor of Accounting is responsible for teaching and learning duties, including designing and preparing teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, and consulting with students. This role involves participating in programme and curriculum development, implementing effective teaching strategies, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching to meet university expectations. The position also entails engaging in scholarly research activities, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, securing research grants, and achieving research outcome targets specific to the Associate Professor level. In addition, the role requires undertaking administrative duties such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, engaging in continuous professional activities, and assisting in establishing links with external organizations or professional bodies related to academic matters.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Accounting or other related fields.
Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in teaching or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 3-6 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM75,000-RM100,000 (cumulative).
Graduated at least 2 PhD students.
H-index of minimum 5.
Experience working in higher education environment with a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice or consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
