Job Description
In this role, the Whole School and Lead Counsellor will engage in day-to-day activities that include individual and group counselling, as well as working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals. The environment is dynamic and requires a proactive approach to support the mental health needs of students and the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling to students.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student wellbeing.
- Develop and implement programs for social-emotional development.
- Manage crisis situations effectively and provide timely interventions.
- Contribute to safeguarding and pastoral care initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and interventions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in counselling and mental health.
Job Requirements
A minimum of a relevant degree and a recognised counselling qualification(s), with higher qualifications preferred.
Registered with a recognised professional counselling body in any country.
Strong understanding of professional duties, ethical obligations, and legal responsibilities of counsellors.
Evidence of ongoing professional development in counselling and mental health.
Experience working with learners and adults from diverse backgrounds and needs.
