Job Description

The Associate Professor - Cybersecurity is responsible for teaching and related duties including designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials, conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role involves contributing to programme and curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize and motivate student learning, and supporting research projects and scholarship of postgraduate students. The position requires maintaining high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet university expectations. The role also encompasses participation in scholarly activities such as research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work, as well as supporting efforts to secure research grants and achieving research outcome targets. Additionally, the Associate Professor will undertake administrative responsibilities including attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, engaging in professional activities, and establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies in academic matters.

Job Requirements

Possess a doctoral degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Cybersecurity or Computer Science related fields.

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in teaching or industry.

Possess a strong publication record with at least 5 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.

Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000 (cumulative).

Graduated at least 2 PhD (by Research) students.

Minimum scopus h-index of 8.

Experience working in a higher education environment with a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and high quality presentation skills.

Ability in establishing linkages with external organisations or professional bodies in academic related matters locally and internationally.
