Job Description

The role involves undertaking comprehensive teaching duties, including designing and preparing teaching materials, conducting classes and tutorials, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The position requires participation in programme and curriculum development, implementing teaching strategies to enhance student learning, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high teaching standards. The role also includes engaging in scholarly research activities such as undertaking research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, and community work. Responsibilities include securing research grants, achieving research outcome targets, participating in administrative duties like meetings and committees, engaging in continuous professional development, and assisting in building linkages with external organizations and professional bodies.

Job Requirements

Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Culinary, Gastronomy, Food Studies or other relevant field.

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in teaching / research / industry.

Possess a strong publication record with at least 3-5 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.

Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM75,000-RM100,000 (cumulative).

Graduated at least 2 PhD students.

H-index of minimum 5.

Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.

Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.

Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
