The Associate Professor in International Relations is responsible for teaching and related duties, including designing and developing teaching materials, conducting lectures and tutorials, and engaging in student consultation and assessment. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning, and supporting postgraduate research projects. The Associate Professor also participates in scholarly activities such as research, conference presentations, journal publications, and securing research grants, aiming to meet specified research outcome targets. Additional responsibilities include administrative duties, committee participation, professional development, and establishing external academic linkages.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in International Relations or other relevant fields.
Have at least five years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Maintain a strong publication record with at least 3-5 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM75,000-RM100,000 cumulatively.
Have graduated at least 2 PhD students.
Have a minimum h-index of 5.
Experience working in higher education with teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or professional experience including coaching and mentoring and presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including using IT technologies for teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects or professional consultancy with evidence of outputs.
