Job Description
The Associate Professor - Media & Communication is responsible for undertaking teaching and related duties, including preparing teaching materials, conducting lectures and tutorials, student consultation, and assessment. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies, supporting postgraduate research, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. The position also requires active participation in scholarly activities such as research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work. Additionally, the Associate Professor will engage in administrative duties, participate in departmental and faculty committees, support professional activities, and help establish external academic linkages.
Job Requirements
Possess a doctoral degree in Media and Communication or other relevant fields from a recognized university with at least seven (7) years of relevant teaching/industry experience.
Preferably with h-index 8.
Graduated at least 2 PhD students.
Published at least 5 papers in C.I. journal (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth at least RM 100,000 - RM 120,000.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
