Role Summary
The AVP, Finance (Management Reports-Tax and Expenses Management) is responsible for managing tax compliance and planning for Great Eastern Group of Companies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to tax regulations and driving operational excellence within the finance division of the insurance industry.
Job Description
In this role, you will oversee tax operations, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements while managing day-to-day financial activities. You will work in a dynamic environment that emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage tax compliance and planning for direct and indirect tax matters.
- Oversee tax operations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Drive operational excellence within the finance division.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance tax processes.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Prepare and review tax returns and related documentation.
- Provide guidance on tax-related inquiries and issues.
Job Requirements
Tertiary qualification or full qualification in Accounting (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, ICAEW).
7-8 years of working experience in Tax, Finance, and Accounting related fields.
Proficient with Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Sales, and Service Tax Acts.
Familiar with BEPS Pillar 2 Rules.
Proficient with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
High level of integrity and accountability.
