The Chief Concierge at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu is responsible for supporting all aspects of Concierge functions in accordance with hotel standards. This role involves maintaining a concierge service philosophy to guide staff, assisting in guest acknowledgment and service, and supporting management to ensure all guest needs are known prior to arrival, contributing to a unique and memorable stay. The position includes coordinating day-to-day operations, setting goals for the concierge team, establishing relationships with local businesses, providing guest services such as reservations and recommendations, and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the guest's stay.
High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in guest services, front desk, or related professional area, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with no prior work experience required.
Ability to coordinate daily concierge operations while maintaining service quality and meeting customer expectations.
Skills to develop goals, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
Capability to support and lead a concierge team focused on guest satisfaction and financial results.
Understanding of the impact of department operations on overall property financial goals and ability to manage to achieve or exceed these goals.
Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with local attractions, restaurants, and other businesses to enhance guest experiences.
Knowledge to provide various guest services such as arranging transportation, tickets, office services, and other personal requests.
Awareness of cultural differences to meet specific guest needs and requirements.
Ability to provide check-in and check-out services and handle reservations.
Familiarity with hotel rooms, services, and facilities.
Capability to ensure VIP and repeat guests receive appropriate service and requests are fulfilled.
Skills to respond to emergency situations appropriately.
Awareness of daily hotel operations, events, guest counts, VIPs, group activities, and special arrangements.
Ability to provide warm welcomes and anticipate guest needs throughout their stay.
Support to build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and serve as a role model.
Competence in maintaining open, collaborative relationships within the team and ensuring adherence to hotel policies and guest satisfaction standards.
Ability to handle guest problems and complaints and improve service through coaching and feedback.
Effective communication skills to provide information to supervisors and peers and participate actively in departmental meetings.
