The Director of Spa is responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of the spa's operations, including staff, programs, and facilities. The role focuses on coordinating spa services and ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance.
The Director of Spa is responsible for managing and supervising all areas of the spa, including programs, services, hours of operation, facilities, and staff. This role coordinates the delivery of spa services such as salon, skin care, fitness and wellness, massage, reservations, reception desk, and locker room areas. As a department head, the Director directs and collaborates with management and hourly employees to ensure successful execution of all spa operations, focusing on improving guest and employee satisfaction and maximizing financial performance.
A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with 4 years of experience in spa, guest services, front desk, sales and marketing, or a related professional area, OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with 2 years of experience in spa, guest services, front desk, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
The ability to manage spa operations, including vendor selection, contract agreements, retail product research, purchasing, product display, inventory control, and maintaining cleanliness of spa areas and equipment.
Skills in managing spa sales and marketing strategies, including creating special services for groups, promotions, co-op marketing efforts, and ensuring spa services are included in property marketing and advertising.
Competence in spa revenue management strategies, including payroll management, operating budget review, and managing controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals.
Leadership skills to ensure exceptional customer service, empower employees, and improve service performance.
Experience in human resources activities such as reviewing guest feedback, hiring, training, performance appraisals, developing business goals, fostering collaborative relationships, soliciting employee feedback, and effective communication within the team.
