Job Description
The Engineering Technician at Sheraton Johor Bahru is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues. The role includes performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, visually inspecting machines, carrying necessary equipment, maintaining maintenance inventory, and communicating daily activities and problems to other shifts. The technician should have basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in various categories such as air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building maintenance. Other duties include performing surface preparation, minor repairs, troubleshooting equipment, programming TVs, performing landscaping repairs, using computer systems for maintenance input, and adhering to safety policies and company standards.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.
Ability to communicate professionally and clearly.
Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier items with help.
Physical ability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and ladders, and to reach overhead and below the knees with bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Basic computer skills, including inputting schedules and making temperature changes.
Ability to follow company policies, safety and security procedures.
Willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
