Role Summary
The Executive, Health Information Management Services is responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory certifications and managing patient case notes. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of health information within the healthcare environment.
Job Description
In this position, you will engage in daily activities that involve managing patient case notes and ensuring compliance with medical documentation laws. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to support the efficient operation of health information management services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all SMSH, HIMS and statutory certifications.
- Trace, bind, repair and file all case notes.
- Collect, sort, and file loose notes relevant to patient registration.
- Ensure case notes are presentable and organized.
- Maintain confidentiality of HIMS services.
- Follow laws governing medical documentation.
- Control issue and retrieval of case notes and X-ray films.
- Participate in departmental and hospital activities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
Certification in Health Information Management (e.g., CHIM) preferred.
Experience in health information management or medical records.
Proficient in medical coding and documentation standards.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
