A Financial Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling an organization’s financial activities to ensure financial stability, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability. This role involves overseeing financial planning and analysis, financial reporting and compliance, cash flow and risk management, cost control and profitability management, providing strategic and managerial support, and leading finance and accounting staff.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
A Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance) is an advantage.
Professional certifications are preferred, such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA (especially for investment-oriented roles).
Typically 3–7 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or auditing.
Prior experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or financial reporting is essential.
Supervisory or managerial experience is often required.
Strong knowledge of financial management principles.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS).
Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle).
Ability to interpret complex financial data.
Strong quantitative and analytical thinking.
Capability to support strategic decisions using financial evidence.
Ability to explain financial information to non-financial managers.
Strong leadership, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
