Role Summary
The GIS Analyst is responsible for assisting in the collection, processing, and management of geospatial data related to oil palm plantations. This role involves supporting drone operations and monitoring plantation areas, contributing to the accuracy and effectiveness of geospatial data management.
Job Description
As a GIS Analyst intern, you will engage in daily tasks that involve working with geospatial data and collaborating with team members on various projects. You will be involved in both fieldwork and data analysis, ensuring that the information collected is accurate and useful for internal reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collection and processing of geospatial data.
- Support drone operations for UAV mapping.
- Monitor plantation areas using satellite data.
- Maintain and update geospatial databases.
- Generate maps and reports for internal use.
- Ensure data accuracy according to established GIS standards.
- Collaborate with team members on various GIS projects.
Job Requirements
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Remote Sensing, or related field.
Minimum of one year experience in UAV mapping and GIS analysis.
Proficient in GIS tools such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper or QGIS.
Experience in drone operations for UAV mapping.
Willing to travel for fieldwork.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Good report writing skills.
