Job Description
The Hydroprocessing Engineer will be a key member of ExxonMobil's process engineering team, based in the Kuala Lumpur Technology Center. This role involves providing technical leadership and expertise in Hydroprocessing and Hydrocracking to support ExxonMobil's manufacturing facilities globally. The engineer will work closely with global teams to provide unit operation support, troubleshooting, optimization, and lead process technology efforts for capital projects and new technology deployments.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Refining Industry.
Prior experience in Hydroprocessing and Hydrocracking for fuels and base stocks in the downstream oil refining industry.
Proficiency in unit operation, troubleshooting and optimization, process modelling, and catalyst selection related to Hydroprocessing and Hydrocracking.
Experience in project development from early screening studies through detailed engineering to unit startup and commissioning.
Expertise in new technology evaluation, development, and deployment.
Capability to support turnarounds including reactor inspection and startup.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, especially in multicultural global teams.
Ability for strategic thinking and developing creative, fit-for-purpose solutions to operational problems.
Ability to influence and promote change effectively with minimal direct authority.
Willingness to travel internationally about 10% of the time for business needs.
