This role is an Accounting Intern position supporting the finance team with bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, invoice preparation, and reconciliations. The intern will also maintain records, prepare schedules for audits, and contribute to process improvements within the accounting function.
As an Accounting Intern, you will assist the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable processing, invoice and e-invoice preparation, bank and general ledger reconciliations, expense verification, and month-end close tasks. You will also maintain organized digital records, prepare simple schedules for audits and tax, update aging reports, and follow up on outstanding items with vendors and internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will support data entry and checks in the accounting system, ensure supporting documents comply with company policies, and contribute to process improvements such as templates and checklists to enhance accuracy and turnaround time.
Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data/Statistics, or Engineering with strong quantitative skills.
Comfortable with Excel including lookups, pivot tables, and INDEX-MATCH, with bonus skills in Power Query or Power Pivot.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin, with Bahasa Malaysia as a plus.
Organized, detail-oriented, curious, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Right to work in Malaysia and available for at least 3 months.
