Role Summary

The Key Account Manager (Modern Trade) is responsible for driving retail expansion for CUCKOO International Malaysia. This role involves aggressive market penetration and strategic management of key accounts in the Modern Trade and General Trade sectors.

Job Description

In this dynamic role, you will engage with major retail partners and lead initiatives to enhance product visibility and sales performance. You will work in a fast-paced environment that demands a proactive approach and a strong understanding of the FMCG landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate Modern Trade and General Trade markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key account stakeholders.
  • Drive product listings in major Modern Trade accounts such as Lotus’s, AEON, and Econsave.
  • Recruit and manage third-party distributors to expand market reach.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Calculate margins, mark-ups, and ROI to optimize pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing and sales efforts.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

4–7 years of experience in FMCG, Consumer Electronics, or Durables.

Proven track record in managing key accounts in Modern Trade.

Strong understanding of the Malaysian Distributor Model.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
