The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the science department, ensuring that all laboratory resources are well-managed and experiments are prepared efficiently. The work environment is collaborative, requiring interaction with teachers, students, and external partners to enhance the educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage laboratory resources and inventory.
- Prepare and set up science experiments for classes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory spaces.
- Collaborate with science teachers to develop experiment protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the laboratory.
- Assist in training students on laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers for procurement of laboratory materials.
- Support external agencies during science-related events or projects.
Job Requirements
A relevant degree.
Higher degree or recognized professional qualification (preferred).
Evidence of continued relevant professional development.
Experience in working in a laboratory setting (at least 2 years).
Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
Possess reasonable IT skills and knowledge, for example Microsoft (MS) Applications such as Excel and Word.
