The Lecturer in Early Childhood Education is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and research activities within a higher education environment. The role involves designing and delivering course materials, supporting postgraduate research, engaging in scholarly work, and participating in administrative and community activities related to academic development.
The Lecturer - Early Childhood Education is responsible for undertaking teaching and teaching-related duties including the design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role involves participating in high quality programme and curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning, supporting research project work and scholarship of postgraduate students, and maintaining high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the university's expectations. In addition, the lecturer participates in scholarly activities including research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work, supporting grant applications as a co-researcher, and achieving research outcome targets. They also undertake administrative responsibilities such as attending meetings and committees, participating in professional activities, and assisting in establishing linkages with external organisations and professional bodies in academic matters.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Early Childhood Education, Special Education Needs, or other relevant fields.
Possess a publication record with at least 1-2 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Experience working in higher education environment with a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and high quality presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of appropriate outputs.
