Job Description
The role of Lecturer - Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) involves undertaking various teaching and related duties such as designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials, conducting classes and tutorials, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessments. The lecturer is expected to develop teaching methodologies and materials, including the use of AI and technology to facilitate learning, and participate in curriculum development. The position also requires involvement in research activities, conference presentations, journal publications, and securing research grants. Administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and establishing linkages with external organizations are also part of the role.
Job Requirements
PhD from a recognized university in Social Sciences / Humanities.
Candidate must have experience teaching Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) subjects such as Falsafah dan Isu Semasa, Penghayatan Etika dan Peradaban, Kursus Integriti dan Antirasuah, and other MPU modules (U2-U4 category).
Candidates must also be able to teach Mata Pelajaran Umum and attend the Training of Trainers (TOT) programme provided by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for new modules offered to degree and diploma students.
Publication in C.I. journal (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five (5) years with at least 2 publications for Social Sciences.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
Demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and/or the profession.
