The Lecturer - Modern Cuisine is responsible for undertaking teaching duties, which include designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role involves participating in curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching to meet the University's expectations. Additionally, the lecturer engages in research activities such as undertaking research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, supporting grant applications, and achieving research outcomes. Administrative duties include attending meetings, participating in committees and working groups, engaging in professional activities, and assisting in establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies.
Possesses recognised Master Degree in Food Studies or Gastronomy with at least 5 years industry experience.
Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s expectation for teaching excellence.
Assist in establishing linkages with external organisations or professional bodies in academic related matters locally and internationally.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
