Job Description
The Lecturer will undertake teaching and related duties, including the design, preparation, and development of educational materials, conducting lectures and tutorials, and providing student consultations. The position also involves marking and assessment, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting postgraduate research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop course materials for New Media Studies and Journalism.
- Conduct engaging lectures and tutorials to enhance student learning.
- Consult with students to provide academic support and guidance.
- Mark and assess student work in accordance with university standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and improvement initiatives.
- Support postgraduate research projects and mentor students.
- Participate in scholarly research activities, including publishing and presenting at conferences.
- Attend meetings and participate in academic committees.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities.
Job Requirements
Possess a PhD in Media and Communication with a specialization in Journalism or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
Published at least 2 papers in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Experience working in a higher education environment with a track record of teaching.
Professional knowledge of curriculum development or experience demonstrating coaching and mentoring skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies for teaching and learning.
