Job Description
The Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Technology is responsible for teaching and learning duties, including design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, as well as student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role also involves contributing to programme and curriculum development, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high teaching and learning standards. Additionally, the lecturer engages in research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, securing grants, and achieving research outcome targets. Administrative responsibilities include attending meetings, participating in committees, and establishing linkages with external organisations.
Job Requirements
Possess a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognised university, with expertise in industrial pharmacy and regulation of pharmaceuticals for undergraduate teaching.
Candidate first degree must be a Pharmacy degree.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
Demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and/or the profession.
