The Lecturer - Philosophy is responsible for teaching and learning activities including the design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, as well as engaging in student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. This role involves participation in curriculum development, implementing effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high teaching standards in line with University expectations. In addition to teaching duties, the lecturer will engage in scholarly research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing journal articles, and community involvement. They will also support grant applications for research and aim to meet specified research outcome targets. Administrative responsibilities include attending departmental meetings, participating in committees and professional activities, and fostering linkages with external organizations relevant to academic matters.
Possess a PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
Published at least 2 papers in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Experience working in higher education with a track record of teaching and knowledge of curriculum development or evidence of coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies for teaching and learning facilitation.
Experience working on research projects or professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of outputs.
