The Lecturer - Western Cuisine is responsible for teaching and related duties including designing and developing teaching materials, conducting classes and practicals, student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. They are also involved in curriculum development and motivating students to optimize learning outcomes. The role includes supporting postgraduate research projects and maintaining high teaching and learning standards in line with the university's expectations. In addition, the lecturer participates in scholarly activities such as research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work. They support efforts to secure research grants and are expected to achieve specified research outcome targets. Administrative duties include attending meetings, participating in committees, engaging in professional activities, and helping establish linkages with external organizations related to academic matters.
Possess a Master Degree in Food Studies, Gastronomy, Culinary or other relevant fields from a recognized university with at least 5 years industry experience.
Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s expectation for teaching excellence.
Assist in establishing linkages with external organisations or professional bodies in academic related matters locally and internationally.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
