Job Description
The Library Assistant in the Lending Services Unit engages in daily operations that include handling loans, reserves, and user assistance in a collaborative environment. The position also supports the maintenance of library collections and assists with various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide lending services to library users.
- Ensure timely availability of library materials.
- Assist with the accessibility and maintenance of library collections.
- Perform administrative duties related to lending services.
- Support acquisition and cataloguing processes.

Job Requirements
Minimum qualification of STPM, Diploma, or University degree in related disciplines recognized in librarianship.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in Lending Services, preferably within an academic library.
Knowledge of international cataloguing and classification standards (e.g. AAC2R, DDC, LC Subject Headings, MARC21).
Proficiency in using library systems.
IT skills including Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
