The Mechanic role at Sime Darby involves maintaining Caterpillar and SDI-supported equipment through preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. The role involves completing the Individual Learning Plan (TCDP Level 1) including both Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Web-Based Training (WBT) to acquire core competencies. The candidate performs preventive maintenance on Caterpillar and SDI-supported equipment, conducts component removal and installation tasks according to procedures and safety guidelines, executes Technical Analysis Level 1 (TA1) using diagnostic tools, performs walk-around and CAT Inspect app inspections, and carries out mechanical repairs and maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The role also includes completing service documentation accurately, assisting with parts management, collaborating and communicating within the team, loading and unloading equipment safely, monitoring labor productivity, meeting monthly revenue targets, staying updated on the latest technologies, following a career development plan with the supervisor, and performing additional duties as assigned by management.
