Role Summary

The Medical Officer, Accident & Emergency is responsible for providing critical care to all outpatient and emergency cases attending the Accident & Emergency Department. This role involves high-stakes medical procedures and requires effective communication with both patients and healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

In this role, you will be engaged in delivering acute life-saving care and managing emergency situations. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute life-saving care to patients in the Accident & Emergency Department.
  • Attend to CODE BLUE situations promptly and effectively.
  • Manage patient handovers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform various medical procedures as required.
  • Maintain continuous communication with consultants and staff.
  • Participate in health screening programs to promote community health.
  • Engage in ongoing clinical training to enhance medical knowledge and skills.

Job Requirements

Degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery – MBBS)

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Officer

Knowledgeable in Quality Improvement activities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to perform emergency procedures

Willingness to work overtime as required

Commitment to continuous medical education

Ability to handle high-pressure situations
