The Professor in Architecture / Digital Construction Management is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, student consultation, and assessment, as well as supporting postgraduate research projects. The role also includes conducting scholarly research, securing research grants, and participating in administrative and professional activities related to higher education and the field of architecture.
The Professor in Architecture / Digital Construction Management is responsible for teaching and related duties including the design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, as well as student consultation and assessment. The role includes participation in curriculum development and implementation of teaching strategies to enhance student learning and motivation. Additionally, the professor supports postgraduate research projects and maintains high standards of teaching to meet university expectations. The position also involves engaging in scholarly research activities such as undertaking research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, and participating in community work. The professor is expected to support securing research grants, achieve specific research outcomes, handle administrative duties including committee participation, and contribute to professional activities and external academic linkages.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Architecture or Built Environment.
Have at least eight years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Be a Green building (GBI, LEED) certified professional or possess working knowledge of green building.
Possess a strong publication record with 20 to 25 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years.
Have secured research grants as a Principal Investigator worth RM300,000 to RM600,000 cumulatively.
Have graduated at least four PhD students.
Have an H-index of at least 18.
Possess at least one Intellectual Property in the form of patents, copyrights, or trademarks.
Have experience working in higher education with a track record in teaching, curriculum development, coaching, mentoring, and strong presentation skills.
Have experience developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Have experience working on research projects and activities or professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of outputs.
