The role is for a Professor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering who will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and program development. The position involves mentoring students and colleagues, leading research activities, and contributing to the university's academic and administrative functions.
The Professor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering provides academic leadership in teaching and learning, including curriculum innovation, programme development, and enhancement of pedagogical practices. The role involves designing, preparing, and delivering high-quality teaching materials, mentoring colleagues and postgraduate students, supervising postgraduate research, and upholding high standards of teaching excellence to meet the University's expectations. The position also requires leading scholarly activities such as research projects, publishing in high-impact journals, presenting at international conferences, securing external research grants, and mentoring colleagues in research capacity development. Additionally, the role includes contributing to departmental and university administration, participating in governance activities, engaging in continuous professional development, and establishing collaborations with external organisations and industry partners.
PhD in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognised university.
Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in teaching, research, and/or industry practice, preferably within a higher education environment.
Strong publication record with 10–15 indexed journal publications (ISI / Scopus Q1 and Q2) within the last five (5) years.
Proven ability to secure external research grants as Principal Investigator, with a cumulative value of RM300,000–RM600,000.
Scopus h-index of at least 16.
Successfully supervised and graduated at least three (3) PhD students by Research.
Possession of at least one (1) approved patent, invention, or copyright.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, teaching innovation, and pedagogical excellence.
Evidence of mentoring and coaching colleagues and students to achieve academic excellence.
Skilled in developing and applying innovative teaching methodologies, including effective use of digital and IT technologies.
Active involvement in research projects, consultancy, or professional practice with evidence of scholarly or industry-relevant outputs.
Commitment to continuous professional development and engagement with relevant professional or academic bodies.
