Role Summary

The Professor - Hospitality Service Marketing / Technology / Service Innovation is responsible for teaching and learning activities within the hospitality sector. This role significantly impacts student learning and research development in a dynamic academic environment.

Job Description

The Professor engages in day-to-day teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly research activities while maintaining high academic standards. The role also includes administrative responsibilities and collaboration with external academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct classes that enhance student learning.
  • Develop and optimize curriculum for hospitality service marketing and technology.
  • Support postgraduate research projects and guide students in their academic pursuits.
  • Maintain high teaching standards through continuous improvement and feedback.
  • Engage in scholarly research, including publishing findings and presenting at conferences.
  • Undertake administrative duties and participate in academic committees.
  • Establish and maintain external academic linkages for collaborative opportunities.

Job Requirements

Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Tourism / Hospitality fields.

Have at least eight years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.

Maintain a strong publication record with at least 10 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.

Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000-RM200,000 (cumulative).

Graduated at least 3 PhD students.

Have a minimum h-index of 10.

Experience working in a higher education environment.
