The Professor of International Relations is responsible for teaching, research, and administrative duties within the university. The role requires significant experience in teaching and research, maintaining high standards in teaching, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in scholarly research activities and university administration.
The Professor of International Relations is responsible for teaching duties including the design and development of teaching materials, conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions, consultation with students, assessment, and invigilation. The role includes contributing to programme and curriculum development, planning teaching strategies to optimize and motivate student learning, and supporting postgraduate research projects. The professor also maintains high teaching standards in line with the University's expectations. The role entails participation in scholarly research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing journal articles, securing research grants, and achieving targeted research outcomes. Additional responsibilities include administrative duties like attending meetings, participating in committees, engaging in professional development, and establishing external academic linkages.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in International Relations related fields.
Have at least eight (8) years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 15-20 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000-RM200,000 cumulatively.
Have graduated at least 4 PhD students.
Have an H-index of minimum 12.
Possess at least 1 Intellectual Property in the form of patents, copyrights or trademarks.
Have experience working in higher education environment with teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or evidence of coaching and mentoring and high quality presentation skills.
Have experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning.
Have experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of outputs.
