The Professor in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence is responsible for teaching duties including design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, and student consultations. The role involves participating in programme and curriculum development, planning teaching strategies to enhance student learning, supporting postgraduate research project work, and maintaining high teaching and learning standards. The position also requires engaging in research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, securing research grants, and achieving research outcome targets. Additionally, the professor will undertake administrative duties including departmental meetings, committee participation, professional development, and establishing external academic linkages.
Possess a doctoral degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering or relevant engineering fields.
Candidate must be or close to becoming a Professional Engineer (PEng.) registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Minimum with scopus h-index of 18.
Graduated at least 4 PhD students.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 20-25 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM300,000-RM600,000 (cumulative).
Possessing an approved patent or invention or copyright of one (1).
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
