Job Description
The Professor of Political Science is responsible for teaching and related duties including the design and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, and student consultations. The role also involves contributing to programme and curriculum development, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning as per university expectations. Additionally, the Professor participates in scholarly research activities such as undertaking research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, and securing research grants. Administrative duties include attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and establishing links with external organizations relevant to academic matters.
Job Requirements
Possess a PhD in Political Science or a closely related field from a recognised university.
Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Experience in teaching some philosophy related subjects is desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 10 publications in Q1/Q2 journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000-RM200,000 (cumulative).
Graduated at least 3 PhD students.
Minimum Scopus h-index of 10.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
