The Professor of Political Science is responsible for teaching and related academic duties. This role significantly contributes to the development of the curriculum and the academic environment at the university.

Job Description

The Professor of Political Science engages in daily teaching activities, including designing and developing teaching materials, conducting classes, and providing student consultations. The position also involves contributing to program and curriculum development, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning as per university expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop teaching materials for Political Science courses.
  • Conduct classes and facilitate student consultations.
  • Contribute to program and curriculum development initiatives.
  • Support postgraduate research projects and mentor students.
  • Participate in scholarly research activities, including publishing and presenting at conferences.
  • Attend departmental meetings and participate in academic committees.
  • Establish links with external organizations relevant to academic matters.

Job Requirements

Possess a PhD in Political Science or a closely related field from a recognised university.

At least eight (8) years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.

Strong publication record with at least 10 publications in Q1/Q2 journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.

Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000-RM200,000 (cumulative).

Graduated at least 3 PhD students.

Minimum Scopus h-index of 10.

Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials.
