This role is for a Psychology Professor responsible for teaching, conducting research, and supporting student success. The position involves curriculum development, participation in scholarly research, administrative duties, and collaboration with academic and external professional bodies.
The role involves undertaking teaching and related duties, including designing and preparing teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The candidate will participate in curriculum development, implement teaching strategies to optimize student learning, support postgraduate research projects, and maintain high standards of teaching to meet the university's expectations. The position also requires active involvement in scholarly research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, securing research grants, and achieving specified research outcomes. Additionally, the candidate is expected to fulfill administrative responsibilities, participate in professional activities, attend meetings and committees, and assist in establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies related to academics.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Psychology.
Candidate must have at least eight (8) years of experience in teaching / research / industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 10 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM150,000-RM200,000 (cumulative).
Graduated at least 3 PhD students.
Minimum h-index of 10.
Experience working in higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching and mentoring and a high quality of presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in the facilitation of teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice/consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
