The PYP Coordinator is responsible for leading the implementation and support of the PYP curriculum within the Primary School. Job Description
The PYP Coordinator works closely with teams to facilitate curriculum planning and collaboration within the Primary School. They act as a pedagogical leader, guiding staff and promoting effective teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate planning meetings for selected year groups.
- Support the implementation of the PYP programme.
- Promote inquiry-based learning and international mindedness.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff.
- Collaborate with the Primary Leadership team to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Contribute to defining and nurturing the school culture.
- Ensure alignment with all PYP publications.
Job Requirements
A degree plus teaching qualification or equivalent.
Higher degree or recognized professional qualification preferred.
Evidence of continued relevant professional development, including significant IB training.
Experience with teaching PYP, with 5+ years preferred.
Experience in teaching learners with diverse needs, especially EAL.
Understanding of all PYP publications.
